Dr. Hellen Namawejje is a lecturer in the Department of Statistical Methods and Actuarial Science at Makerere University and holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics (Epidemiology). Since 2017, she has been a part of the university’s Biometrics and Applied Statistics team. Dr. Namawejje specializes in designing and evaluating randomized controlled trials (RCTs), conducting impact evaluations, and assessing the effectiveness of health interventions using advanced statistical methods. Her work addresses critical health challenges, including malaria prevention, early childhood development, and financial literacy. With a strong focus on data analysis and governance, she aims to translate research into policies that improve health and financial outcomes, making her a key contributor to public health decision making and program evaluation both at national and global levels.
She has conducted SDM trainings with international organizations like the Regional University Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and Makerere University Regional Centre for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI), among others and Provided scientists with solutions for their data management needs, especially regarding their data collection, research designs (surveys, experi mental), coding, data cleaning, and analysis.
