Week 1 2. Developing a Resource-Mobilisation Strategy Organisational readiness; funding diversification; donor mapping; partnerships; income generation; sustainability planning. Prepare a basic resource-mobilisation strategy.
Week 2 3. Identifying and Assessing Funding Opportunities Donor research; funding databases; calls for proposals; funder priorities; eligibility requirements; bid and no-bid decisions. Identify and assess suitable funding opportunities.
Week 2 4. Project Design and Theory of Change Needs assessment; problem analysis; stakeholder engagement; project objectives; results chains; theory of change and logical frameworks. Develop a problem tree, objectives, and project-results framework.
Week 3 5. Writing a Compelling Grant Proposal Executive summary; background; problem statement; objectives; methodology; activities; implementation plan; sustainability. Draft the main narrative sections of a grant proposal.
Week 3 6. Proposal Budgeting and Value for Money Cost estimation; budget categories; budget notes; direct and indirect costs; co-financing; value for money; budget-narrative alignment. Prepare a realistic proposal budget and budget narrative.
Week 4 7. Monitoring, Evaluation and Risk Management Indicators; targets; means of verification; monitoring plans; risk identification; mitigation measures; reporting and accountability. Develop an M&E framework and project risk register.
Week 4 8. Proposal Review, Submission and Donor Engagement Compliance reviews; proposal quality assurance; common proposal weaknesses; donor communication; pitching; submission and follow-up. Complete, present, and receive feedback on a draft grant proposal.
